Success at charity bake sale!

Success at charity bake sale!

22nd June 2016 in Charity

The team at Applied Digital Marketing grabbed their pinnies and baked cakes to raise money for our nominated charity the fabulous Children’s Heart Surgery Fund!

Members of our team (and some of our mums!) baked their finest cakes and buns for our bake sale on Friday 17th June, which was held in our offices at Brooke’s Mill.

Some of the tempting treats included Victoria sponge, chocolate cake, Guinness gingerbread, flapjack and lemon cake.

We invited other tenants in our building to buy cakes and support a great cause in the process, Sharon Coyle, the CEO of the Children’s Heart Surgery Fund and Harris, son of Andrew Womersley  - our Head of Development called in for a piece of cake!

Harris is the main reason why the Children’s Heart Surgery Fund is our chosen charity for this year. Read more about his story here.

The bake sale started at 10am and by 10.01am a whole chocolate cake was sold! By lunchtime almost all of the cakes had gone and the remaining few were snapped up throughout the afternoon, it was great to see that all of our efforts paid off and we raised an incredible £172.14!

So far, we’ve raised a total of £590 for this amazing charity and the bake sale is part of a series of events that the team at Applied are taking part in. We have already completed the First of the Summer Triathlon, and next up is the Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge in July, so it’s a busy year for us!

The Children's Heart Surgery Fund is a charity providing support for children and adults born with Congenital Heart Defects. The Fund provides valuable equipment, resources and research, as well as a support service for both the children and their families along the way as they did with Andrew, his wife Keely and Harris.

We would be very grateful if you would help us to continue to raise money for this amazing charity by donating as much as you can! To donate, please visit our JustGiving page here.
