I remember reading a blog on a design agency website a few months back, that simply said ‘if we haven’t updated this for a while, we’re busy’.
The way it’s been at Applied over the last couple of months, that statement rings true for us as well.
So this brings the return of our monthly digest, consisting of what we’ve been up to this month, and what we’re working on.
New website launch
We recently built a website for The Car Spot, who are taking a new approach to buying and selling used cars. Taking a clutter-free approach to the design, we focused on creating a simple user experience, whichever route a customer was looking to go down.
They’re due to launch from their new premises at the end of September, and we can’t wait to see the website backed up sales rolling in.
Custom App Development
We’ve recently embarked on an extensive research project, that looks into a complex app build launched into an eCommerce environment. With multiple user journeys and a whole host of functionality to consider, we created a (seriously) lengthy document that we hope will be hitting the market in the near future.
We’d hate for this to be one of those posts, but we’re working on a new website with one of our long-standing clients, who are mid-way through launching a new brand. Believe us when we say, we’ll share information about our latest website build as soon as we can.
Our email marketing focuses entirely on getting users to take action, and we’ve rolled a huge number of emails out this month with that principle in mind. Our minimalist, creative approach to email design continues to get results across the board, and is something we look forward to learning from every month.
“You guys seem to be flying at the moment”
A lovely comment from our good friend Amy Byram following our recent nomination at the Huddersfield Examiner Business Awards - and without blowing our own trumpet, we’ve got a lot to be proud of!
Firstly, we’ve been nominated for B2B eCommerce Site of the Year at the Northern eCommerce Awards, alongside our brilliant client World of Wool. This award recognises a combination of factors, from the initial brief, to design, implementation and conversion, which makes being nominated an even prouder moment for us.
Swiftly following our first-ever award nomination, we were shortlisted for the Creative Impact Award at the Examiner Business Awards. This recognised the creative work we’ve produced for clients over the last 12 months, and the results that these have gained. We take great pride in creating design work that is fully focused on the user, enhancing conversion rates and appealing to the correct customer base, which again - makes this nomination even sweeter.
We’d love to bring some silverware back to the office. Wish us luck!
In lighter (or heavier, in some cases) news, we have a winner in the inaugural Applied Great Flapjack Off Challenge. For 9 weeks each member of the Applied team turned their hand to baking, bringing in tasty treats for the rest of the team to judge them on.
Marnie, our digital marketing apprentice, stormed home with her raspberry-infused bake. Although a mention has to go to Luke, who rather than simply sending a score in each week, produced a few memorable comments on the composition of each flapjack. We’ll let you judge for yourself…
This was officially the longest digest we’ve released to date, but with a few months to catch up on, it’s not hard to see why. We’ll be back next month (PROMISE!) with a new monthly digest.
