Applied Digital to take part in team triathlon!

4th May 2016 in Applied News

The team at Applied Digital are taking part in the First of the Summer Triathlon in Holmfirth on Sunday 15th May, to help raise money for the Children’s Heart Surgery Fund.

We will be taking part in the triathlon as a relay team with:

  • Jenny Green - swimming 400m in the Holmfirth pool
  • Steve Sykes - cycling 24km around Holmfirth and surrounding areas
  • Andrew Womersley - running 5.7km from Holmfirth, through Thongsbridge, and New Mill.

We’ve been training hard so far with Jenny swimming 3 times a week, Andrew running during his lunch break and Steve cycling on a weekend to ensure that we are fit and ready to take on the challenge.

This triathlon is the first of a series of events that the team at Applied are taking part in, next will be the Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge in July, so it’s a busy year for us!

The Children's Heart Surgery Fund is a charity providing support for children and adults born with Congenital Heart Defects. The Fund provides valuable equipment, resources and research, as well as a support service for both the children and their families along the way.

We are raising money for this amazing charity due to the experience that Head of Development Andrew Womersley and his wife Keely have been through with their baby son Harris. Click here to find out more.

We would be very grateful if you would help us raise money for this amazing charity by donating as much as you can! To donate, please visit our JustGiving page here!

New appointment. Onwards and Upwards. Literally.

I’m a bit of a one for reading those books you find in airports in the ‘business’ section. You know, the ones by people who run massive corporations with tens of thousands of staff, who’ve transformed businesses, turned around a supertanker of despair and are now sailing toward a sunny horizon, via the upland pastures of bountiful gains and endless wealth.
