Applied Digital take to the skies!

Applied Digital take to the skies!

17th August 2016 in Charity

Blue sky thinking. Followed by a plummet to earth.

Our MD Steve Sykes will take part in a charity tandem skydive on Sunday 18th September, to help raise money for the Children’s Heart Surgery Fund.

This date is Steve’s birthday, and what better way for him to spend it than jumping out of an aeroplane at 15,000ft - we’re sure he thinks so!

The Tandem skydive is one minute of freefall harnessed to the front of a fully qualified instructor, located at Hibaldstow Airfield, North Lincolnshire.

In order to take part, Applied Digital need to raise a minimum amount of £395 in sponsorship money for The Children’s Heart Surgery Fund and every extra penny that we raise over the minimum will also go straight to the charity, so please try to donate as much as you possibly can!

Steve has been heard to mutter “I’m not even sure they make parachutes big enough for my weight. I will be checking Wikipedia to make sure this is actually possible.”

The skydive is one of a series of events that the team at Applied have taken part in throughout the year, including Wear Red in Feb, Triathlon, Bake Sale and The Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge - so it’s been a busy year for us!

The Children's Heart Surgery Fund is a charity providing support for children and adults born with Congenital Heart Defects. The Fund provides valuable equipment, resources and research, as well as a support service for both the children and their families along the way.

We are raising money for this amazing charity due to the experience that Head of Development Andrew Womersley and his wife Keely have been through with their baby son Harris. Click here to find out more.

So far the team at Applied have raised an incredible £880 for the Children’s Heart Surgery Fund and we would be very grateful if you would help us raise even more for this amazing charity by donating as much as you can! To donate, please visit our JustGiving page here!
